Chapter 6: Mt. Moon

Ash & Misty got to sleep easily that night from their Pokémon battle with Team Rocket that night. The next day...

Ash was still sleeping in his tent. It was 7:30. Misty awakened. "Well, it's morning." she growled to herself. Then she snapped out of angriness & opened Ash's tent up to wake him up. "Ash, speak to me, Ash."

"Misty?"

"Come on, Ash, we need to get going."

"Yeah, I think the Clefairy at Mt. Moon probably want this Moon Stone back." Ash replied quietly. They cooked themselves some breakfast, then started walking north. Once they had made it to Pewter City, Ash spoke to Misty. "Hey, Misty, do you think we should say 'hi' to Brock?"

"Nah, I've never really liked him. Let's just hurry up & get that Moon Stone to Mt. Moon.", and with those words from Misty, they completely skipped Pewter, just walking through it not paying any attention.

Mt. Moon was remembered as a huge, forested over mountain with a crater in it. It didn't look any different to Ash & Misty. "This place is no different." Ash commented once they had gotten to the foot of it.

"Ash, you're forgetting that that Team Rocket rigged the place with lights. It's pitch black in there now!"

"Let's go in there. Charmander, I choose you!" Ash picked up his Fire Pokémon in his arms, tail tightened in front of Ash so they could see better. Misty walked alongside of Ash. "Ash, remmber the cave structure?" Misty asked with a little fear in her voice.

"I do. I know that the core of the Moon Stone is off that way." Ash pointed. They kept walking, and it seemed to get colder. Suddenly, Misty couldn't take it anymore. "Maybe it's just because he's better dressed than I am. Or maybe it's because- he's holding a Fire Pokémon?" she wondered in her head. "Ash, hold on for a second." Misty got out her blue Pokédex.

Ash sighed a give in, and she started to get her Jigglypuff Poké Ball out. She then transported her Jigglyouff to Cerulean & got her Vulpix. "But Misty, what do you want Vulpix for?" Ash asked.

"I'm freezing. You don't act that way, so I'm guessing Charmamder's helping to keep you warm. Vulpix's a Fire type so-"

"I get it." Ash interrupted. The transport finished, and Misty put her Pokédex away. She sent out her Vulpix & picked it up. "Vulpix, just relax." she said sofly to her Pokémon. They kept walking right into a dead end. "It's a dead end!" Ash screamed. Then he gasped. The way out was blocked & a skylight appeared. "We're trapped!" Misty yelled, "But at least we won't suffocate." as if to get something good out of this.

Chapter 7: Escape

Misty was starting to lose morale (A high morale means you're happy about most things, a low means things aren't going your way). Ash got some warmer clothes on. It was raining, and they kept their tents away from that spot. Once that was done, Misty insisted for no fires in the room. Ash agreed, and then began to think about how they were going to get out of here. "Ash, how about this. We get Bulbasaur out of here. Then we put each other in a Poké Ball, and then Bulbasaur pulls the ball with us inside out of here."

"It's worth a shot, I can't think of anything but see if we can chip through the rock wall. Okay, I guess I throw Bulbasaur's ball up there, right?"

    "Yeah."

Ash grunted. "Got it!" he chirped. The ball fell back down to them, and Ash caught it. "Shrink it & put it on your belt." Misty ordered. "Misty calls Golduck! Okay, now we need to hug each other." Ash walked into her arms, hoping. "Golduck, throw this Poké Ball at us!". It was skilled at many things, and it knew this. Ash held his breath in horror as he felt the Poké Ball tap both of them at the same time.

Ash looked down on himself, and he was glowing red along with Misty. He felt the air taken out of his lungs easily, & felt Misty's abdomen contract too. He also felt Misty jolt a little from this. Then, he felt like himself again. "Misty," he spoke, "we're in."

"You're right." Misty let go of Ash. "Golduck will grab this Poké Ball, & Bulbasaur will pull Golduck up. Then Golduck will just teleport us out of the ball & that's how we'll escape. Get down! Golduck will pick up the ball & probably roll us around a bit.". She hit that deck as if she was in the Navy. Ash slowly did that. Then they felt the motion. They couldn't help from yelping a little. "Misty, did you know this sliding around everywhere was going to happen?!?!" Ash yelled.

"No!" she screamed. A suddent jolt flipped them to the roof of the ball, and then they fell down in a heap. "Owww, that felt like the bottom of a pitfall!"

"It i s a pitfall in a sense!" Ash yelled/ commented. Ash was laying on top of Misty. "Hey, we stopped." Misty noticed. After that, they floated up to the black line, then fell back on top of each other. "Sorry, Misty." Ash cringed.

Misty groaned. "<deep breath> It's okay." she sighed.

    "Are- I'm glowing white!"

"It's Golduck's teleportation!" Misty exclaimed. She stood up. They were their real height again. "We made it!" Ash exclaimed, and threw his arms around Misty.

    "Thanks to me! <puts on a ^__^ face>"

Then Ash knew something was missing. "What about our packs?". Then he felt his backpack straps & saw his tent laid out before his eyes. "Golduck!"

"Great job, not get out of this rain, return!". It was the same ball Ash & Misty were in a minute ago. "Bulbasaur, return!". Ash jumped into his tent, & asked if Misty wanted to sleep with him that rainy night. She agreed, & put Vulpix back at Cerulean. Misty got her Jigglypuff back. It was still cold, and Misty had a thermometer on her Pokédex. It read 35 degrees (Farenheit). Knowing this, she got all her blankets out. They got to sleep quickly thanks to Misty's Jigglypuff. "Misty, as much as I used to love you, I love you more now. Thank you." and Ash kissed her. She only smiled back & said 'I love you' to him, but Ash knew she was saying the same thing with her face. They fell asleep.

Chapter 8: Pidgeys

Ash slowly woke up to hear Clefairys surrounding his tent. He knew they were attracted to the radiation of the Moon Stone. Misty then woke up in horror. "H-hey, Ash, what going on here?" she gasped nervously.

"Misty, it's okay, it's only the Clefairy. I"ll give them the Moon Stone now." All Ash did was throw the rock out of a barely open tent & they ran off. It was only 4:30 in the morning, so they fell back to sleep. When they woke up...

Misty woke Ash up that morning. It was cloudy, and (more so) windy. Ash & Misty started walking along the eastern part of Route 3. "Misty, this place was a lot less rocky the last time we were here."

"Yeah, last time this was only hilly, but now it i s a mountain."

"It'd be real bad to fall in the river now."

"You're right. If we- ohhhhhh!". They huddled together, there was a bad gust. "That felt like it came from a Pidgey!" Ash exclaimed.

"It did! Look!". A Pidgey flapped it wings lazily 45 feet above them. Ash took a Poké Ball off his belt. Taking his cue, Misty had gotten Starmie's Poké Ball from her pocket. Another gust blew them into the river at their backs. Ash couldn't believe it. This river was freezing, and Misty knew they had about 7 minutes. She immediately threw Starmie's ball in the water, and signed for Ash to hold on to her. He needed his other hand free, so he put that ball in his hand onto his belt.

The Pidgey started to keep track of where they were. Ash started kicking to help them move. Misty just kept them all together. She finally got a breath. Ash didn't, and he let go of her. Misty felt her legs go free, and she dunked her head to see what Ash was doing. He was calm. Misty had thought that Ash didn't want to let go, but she ignored him for a second & got a breath. Once she looked up, she saw the grayish-gold color of Pidgey's Sand Attack.

Ash got his Squirtle out, and gave himself a green needle. Misty knew she couldn't wait and had to use one n o w. Then they realized the sand was going to sink on them so they couldn't see. Misty took Ash's left hand, & felt him tighten his grip on her. Ash & Misty knew that they couldn't look up at the surface. Once they felt the sand, it was warm.

Misty realized they had as long as they could hold their breath. Ash knew that the sand was warm because a Pidgey (Pidgeotto, Pidgeot) keeps the sand very hot in its wings. The sand comes out whenever it wants it. The sand stopped sinking. They could look up- and saw a different waterfall! Misty got to the surface in a hurry. "Ash, get up here!". Misty voice! He knew she was calling him. "What is it?" he blurted.

"It's huge!" Misty pointed, "Over 500 feet! If we let ourselves fall, we'll never make it!"

Ash already knew all that. "Bulbasaur, get us out of here!" Ash screamed. Then Misty felt the tug, along with Ash. "Nice catch!" Misty chirped happily. Starmie & Squirtle were resting in their arms. Bulbasaur put them next to each other in midair, then let them call their Water Pokémon back. Then he let go. They screamed. "WWWHHHHAAAAAA!", was Misty's scare, and Ash only complained, "What are you doing?!?!?!?!?!", but Misty's scream drowned him out. Then Bulbasaur grabbed them when they were face to face with each other.

Tired, they hung their heads on each other's shoulders. "Ash," Misty said softly, "what was that for?"

"I don't know what Bulbasaur did there, but at least we aren't injured." Ash whispered. Bulbasaur slowly pulled them up. Ash & Misty just leaned on each other sleepily. The clouds were blown away, and the winds passed, showing a starry sky above.Once Bulbasaur pulled them up, Misty didn't want anything to eat- all she wanted was to sleep with Ash next to her. She spread out a few of her blankets, and asked if Ash would sleep with her. Ash said yes, and put some of his on top of her blankets. Then they slept, without Misty's Jigglypuff.
