Chapter 1: Butch & Cassidy: The Beginning (and cause of the) Mayhem
"Thanks, Boss!" Cassidy cried after Giovanni bailed them out
a g a i n .
"We don't know how we can repay you!" Butch chimed in.
"Don't thank me." Giovanni boomed, "Your last mission
was foiled by the Twerp Trio. I'll bet you want revenge badly on those three. Go to the
Seafoam Islands & there will be a base there waiting for you. Use your Drowzee &
throw everything you've got at them, but don't attack yourselves."
"Yes, sir. We can do it!" the two cheered. "But,"
Butch asked, "what do you mean, 'throw everything you've got at them'?"
"I mean, tell Gyarados in the wild to go after them, and other
things like that. Maybe Tentacool using Poison Sting on them... you know what I mean. And
once you've got that Pikachu, call me ASAP. Got it?" Butch & Cassidy nodded.
"Good." Giovanni got onto his helicopter with his Persian, flew off.
Butch & Cassidy were teleported to the base courtesy of their
Drowzee. "Boss knows Professor Westwood will send a phone transmission for another
Pokédex upgrade." Cassidy noticed. It said that on the mission posted on a desk
there. "Drowzee, get a hold on where the twerps are."
"What? It only says there are two of them!" Butch said,
completely puzzled. "Drowzee, where is the third one?" "Pewter City? And he
has no intentions of rejoining them? Good. They'll be easier to beat knowing that. But now
it says there's a phone communication being sent to Ash's house. Drowzee, wake them up
& blur the signal!"
Back in Pallet, Ash woke to a hissing noise. Ash, trying to keep Misty
asleep, accidentally stepped on her leg. She woke up, to a moving Ash, and a hissing
noise. "Ow!" Misty shrieked. Ash jumped. "Ash!"
"Sorry, Misty. Get up, look at this! Quick!" Misty crawled
out her blankets, and took a look. "Any Pokémon trainers... upgrade free from... I
repeat, Professor Westwood at Seafoam Isl..d. <end transmission>
"Uh, Ash, I think we have another trip to Seafoam Island on our
hands."
"Yeah, but hasn't that place brought us nothing but trouble?"
"Well," Misty dropped flat on the floor. Butch had told it to
use a Hypnosis on her. "Misty, wake up!"
She slowly opened her eyes. "Ash, don't ask me why that happened.
I think we should pass this up & go somewhere..." Misty never finished. Another
Hypnosis. Ash felt the effect, but he managed to climb back into his bed again. Then they
were sound asleep.
Chapter 2: Coast Hike
Ash finally woke up that morning, just barely seeing Misty walk out the
door of his room. Her blankets had obviously been packed up, and he thought he saw her
backpack on. She had a seat in the living room & waited for Ash to get out of bed
& get his act together. She didn't want to bother with waking him up, but Misty did
want to have another look at that weird, broken up phone transmission. Ring! Ring! Ash's
videophone woke him up & also got Misty's attention from her daydreaming.
Ash slowly opened his eyes, then jumped. Misty came running up the
stairs, and tripped over the top step. Ash picked up the headset & saw Professor Oak
smiling. "Ash. Professor Westwood had announced that's he's got a new Pokédex
upgrade!"
"I know."
"Good. Get to Seafoam Island & get that upgrade! Or, you could
wait a month for Westwood to send it to me.." Ash hung up, and heard Misty groaning.
"Ow!" she squealed, wondering how this could have happened.
"Misty, you okay?" Ash helped her to her feet.
"I'm fine. Come on, Seafoam's only a week away from here!"
An hour later, Ash & Misty are walking toward the coast which,
surfing south on Sea Route 21, could get them to Cinnabar, where they could go east to
Seafoam. Misty & Ash started to set up camp. Misty felt something cold hit the top of
her head. Snow! That was the last thing she expected to see. "Ash, look up!"
"It's snowing! Ash hurried it the process in setting up his tent,
and then he asked, "Do you wanna sleep in the same tent tonight?"
"Normally, I'd say no, but in this, all right!" Misty
cheered. Ash finished setting up his tent, and Misty got in, quick, with Ash at her heels.
They opened their pack & got out all their blankets, in an effort to keep warm. In the
tent, Ash & Misty were freezing. Misty couldn't believe it. "We're near the
coast, and it's snowing? I can't believe this!" she thought, and then decided to tell
Ash. "Ash, why do you think this is happening?"
"I don't know." "Jigggllllyyyypppufff, jjiiiiiiggggllll
jjjiiiggglllllyyyppppuuuffff...." Jigglypuff's song! "I love you, Ash...."
and Misty's eyes were getting heavy.
"I love you too, Misty." They hugged each other, and alomst
kissed each other, but fell asleep before they finished it.
Chapter 3: Tents
That night, Ash dreamed that he was swimming near Seafoam Island with
Misty. He got caught in a rip current, and nothing he tried to surface worked. He suddenly
woke up to a green needle being poked into his arm, and almost screaming, but Misty's hand
was over his mouth, not letting him exhale.
Misty had woke up to a bad sense in the air. It was stale- and hard to
breathe. She nearly blacked out, and finally pinched herself to keep from blacking out.
She gave herself a green needle, and when she gave one to Ash, woke him up. She started
kicking at the roof of the tent- they were frozen over! It was sunny out, but the ice
would never melt in time. Ash helped her out, and they finally broke the ice.
Misty knew how to get a fresh breath. She exhaled in the tent, and
didn't breathe in until she put her mouth to the tent canvas, and barely got a breath
through the thick canvas. Ash did the same, and relaxed. Then Misty broke him out of that
moment of glory by getting his attention, and started to kick again at the ice.
Ash knew he should help her out, and did. Whenever Misty got a breath,
Ash was getting after it, and when Ash got a breath, Misty was after the ice, and after
about a half hour of this, they finally got all the sides but the enterance. Ash decided
to pull the zipper open, and he saw to his horror, that there was a solid wall of ice
there, & behind it a wall of snow. He sent out Charmander, and it used Flamethrower,
and Ash & Misty finally got their first peek at the outside.
It was raining, but it didn't trickle down into the tent & freeze
them to the tent. Ash & Misty collapsed flat on their backs, eyes closed, and enjoying
the fresh, cold air. Ash called Charmander back. Misty just lay there, relaxing, but all
the time, it was getting colder... so cold she got out, and set up her own tent to change
into something warmer. Ash didn't notice. He had to get his tent out of there. He
considered telling Charmander to roast the snow with Flamethrower, and decided to give it
a try.
It worked, and didn't blacken his tent, but the melted snow refroze,
sticking it to the ground. Now he tried Ember, and finally managed to get the the tent out
of there. He put it in his backpack & called Charmander back. Misty got out of her
tent, heavily dressed, and put her tent in her pack. "Let's go, Ash." Misty said
to him, wanting to be riding on Lapras as soon as she could. An hour of cold traveling
goes by, and they were huddled close to each other because of the freezing cold. It was
always snowing a little bit. Ash saw his foot get stuck in the ground. "Misty,
run!" he cried. Ash fell about 10 feet into the snow! Misty got out of the way, and
noticed someone she had seen before walk by, but she couldn't remember who he was.
"Ash? That you?"
Chapter 4: Richie
"Yeah, it's me, Richie. Did you dig this out?" Now Misty
remembered.
"No."
"Ash, are you ok?"
"Butterfree, I choose you!" Ash cried. His Butterfree was
really strong now, and it got Ash out of there easily. "I have only 1 request of you.
A Pokémon battle with Misty."
"What? Why? Gary battled me just the other day and... oh well, I
guess I need the practice..." and Msity reluctantly accepted.
"2 on 2. Happy, go!" Richie's Butterfree appeared.
"And I'll choose a Pokémon that only Ash knows I have... until
now <smile creeps onto face> Misty calls Golduck!"
"In that case, Stun Spore now!"
"Hyper Beam! If the spores touch you, you're done for!" Misty
cried. For Golduck, it was easy to get rid of the spores. "Water Gun, Golduck!"
Too good. Richie's Butterfree fainted.
"Sparky, go!"
"Golduck, return! Misty calls Vulpix! Ember attack!"
"Sparky, Thunderbolt!"
"Vulpix, create an air lens!"
"Thunderbolt's not working!" Richie cried. "Sparky,
Swift attack!"
"Vulpix, Agility! Owwww!" The stars from the Swift missed
& hit Misty!
"Sparky, Quick Attack!" Vulpix was too fast for Pikachu. No
hits.
"Vulpix, Flamethrower!" The match was over, 2-0 in favor of
Misty.
Meanwhile, back at the Rocket Base on Seafoam Island, Butch &
Cassidy watched the Pokémon battle unfold. "That girl member of the Twerp Trio had
some very promising Pokémon." they thought.
Ash & Misty finally made it to the coast. "Misty calls
Lapras!" Ash & Misty got on & started to get bored.
Chapter 5: Sea Route 21 & 22
After 2 days at sea, Ash & Misty feel the air warming. They had
seperate tents that night, and they had had a good night's rest. Misty gave her Lapras a
Super Potion and they were moving again. At 1 in the afternoon, they spot a small island.
Misty wanted to get a tan, so she set up her tent & changed into a bikini. Ash just
cooked himself & Misty a small lunch. Once that had been taken care of, they were
sailing to Seafoam. Misty sprawled out on the Lapras, and Ash just looked around.
Misty fell asleep, and Ash just pinched himself to stay awake. It was
getting late, and Ash noticed another small island. He pointed Lapras that way, and woke
Misty up. She looked at herself, and got what she wanted. A tan! Inside, she felt pretty
happy. She wanted to swim, while the weather was cooling, and let all of her Pokémon get
out of the Poké Ball and have some fun. Ash & his Squirtle wanted to do it too, so
Ash changed, and joined Misty with his Squirtle. Ash didn't see her, so he dove under
& saw her with her Horsea.
"Wow. I've never known anyone like her." Ash thought. Misty
let Horsea do what it wanted now, and she noticed Ash smiling at her. Then a current just
pushed her further out to sea! Misty knew this was a rip current. She didn't seem alarmed
in any way in Ash's eye, she just swam parallel to the shore & surfaced for a breath,
and came back down quickly. Then Ash surfaced, and thought Misty would be right next to
him but, she wasn't. "She's probably down there..." he thought. Ash chased after
her.
Misty had heard something at the surface. "Misty, I need you down
here." it said, but it didn't know who or what said it. She got back underwater, and
noticed Lapras was stuck it a net. A net from the submarine of Team Rocket! All of her
Pokémon had heard the cry (from Lapras, but only Misty didn't know that) and were already
ramming the ship & cutting the net to pieces. Ash's Squirtle also heard it & came
to help out. And there were bubbles. Many bubbles from all the cracks in the hull of Team
Rocket's submarine. "This is a nightmare! James cried.
"Meowth! I'm waterlogged!"
"<growls> Oh, I'll show them! <pushes button> What?
Nothing happened!" Jessie screamed.
The lights cut out in the submarine. Team Rocket hung their heads &
sighed. "We're doomed! It's a shorit curcit!" Meowth chimed.
Outside in the water, Misty hurried to get a breath. She had stayed
under for too long! Then she felt an electric shock. Ash was already on shore, not seeing
any of this, changing in his tent. Misty couldn't hold it in much longer. The electricity
worsened the first hints of cramps, and she was almost out of air anyway! The sub
exploded. "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Misty fell on the wet
sand of the beach face up, & dazed. Ash rushed out of his tent, ready to see Team
Rocket there, waiting for a battle, so he had a Poké Ball in his hand. Instead, he only
saw Misty & a bunch of Water Pokémon looking worried at her. "Misty!" Ash
cried.
