Another day began and our three heroes, Ben, Crystal and Tom woke up at about eight in the morning.

"Uaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh," yawned Tom, stretching his arms. When he opened his tent he noticed that Ben was already up, eating a sandwich for breakfast.
"Good morning Tom"
"Hiya," responded Tom with Growlithe and Pikachu right behind him. He sat down on the ground, gave the two Pokéfood and started eating his sandwich.Crystal joined them just a couple of minutes later. When they ate the food, they packed their tents and went on the way to Pewter city. Nothing interesting happened and the trio finally came to Pewter. But something was wrong here.

[I wonder why it's so quiet here], Tom thought.
"Do you hear something ?", he asked.
"No, nothing", replied Ben.
"Don't you think it's strange, that in a city like this you don't hear anything ?" asked Tom again
"I see your point," said Crystal ,"let's check it out !" and she walked to explore the streets. She suddenly stopped and looked at two boys sleeping on the ground.
"Hey, get over here you two"
"What's up ?"
"Look at these two. It seems like they fell asleep right here."
"That's weird" They continued to walk through the streets of Pewter, noticing people sleeping on the ground. Suddenly the trio heard some voices behind a corner. First they were happy to hear that someone was awake and almost ran to the source of the sound.

"Hey wait a second !" whispered Tom. "What if this is some kind of a trap ?"
"You're right, we should be careful", murmured Crystal back. Several seconds later they finally got a view on the source of the voices, unnoticed.

"Quick, take their Pokéballs !" said a girl with long brown hair in a black uniform with a big red R on it.
"Why rush ? I mean after all, they are asleep you know..." replied a boy with green hair.
"But they won't sleep forever.......sooo we must hurry"
"It sure was a dirty plan to use our Jigglypuff"
"Yeah a perfect idea ! Now our job is as easy as taking a little child his lollipop..."

"So that's why all the people are asleep," whispered Ben, "they used the Jigglypuff to sing"

"We won't let them to steal the Pokémon ! Let's get them !" said Tom and jumped from his cover, followed by Crystal and Ben.

"Hey you two, return the Pokémon immediately !" shouted Tom.

"Look Butch, those kids aren't asleep"
"But how ?"
"Simply. We came here after you used your Jigglypuff's song."
"Well that's bad because you won't live long enough to tell anyone !"

"Prepare for trouble"
"And make it double trouble"
"To infect the world from devastation"
"To blite all people within every nation"
"To denounce the goodness of truth and love"
"To extend our wrath to the stars above"
"Cassidy!"
"Butch!"
"Team Rocket, circling Earth all day and night!"
"Surrender now to us now or you'll surely lose the fight!"

and with that the duo took out two Pokéballs.
"Raticate, Drowzee go ! Make sure these three won't bother us again !"

"So, you wanna play rough eh? It's your turn Pikachu !" shouted Tom.
"Rattata help him !" said Ben.
"You too Pidgey," said Crystal.

"You want to beat us with that ??? That's pathetic. Drowzee, Head butt! Raticate, Focus Energy !"

"Pikachu use your Double team !" cried Tom
"Pidgey, Sand attack !"
"Rattata, Hyper fang the Raticate"

A blue glow surrounded Pikachu. The little body of the mouse then went white. Suddenly 4 more like him appeared. Then 8. Then 12. Then 16. Soon the Rockets were encircled with Pikachus. Meanwhile the Pidgey kicked sand at the large Drowzee. The Drowzee was blinded and Head butted the focusing Raticate. Ben's Rattata then bit it with a vey powerful Super fang.

"Hey Butch, it looks like we're gonna loose !"
"No we won't ," he said as he threw another of his Pokéballs. This time it was the Jigglypuff.
"Jigglypuff, Sing !" said Butch, taking a device, which he put on his ears. Cassidy did the same.

"Oh no the Jigglypuff will put us to sleep," Ben said worried.

"I have an idea, Growlithe try to use your Roar. Maybe it wil be louder than the song." said Tom.
"Hey Vulpix will help you," said Crystal as she released it.

The Jigglypuff started to sing.
"Jiiiiiiigggg..." but it was suddenly interrupted by Vulpix's and Growlithe's Roar. The roar was so loud that the song didn't have any effect and the Jigglypuff was also scared by it.

"Pikachu, Rattata, Pidgey come here." The Pokémon got to their trainers.

"Growlithe," shouted Tom.
"Vulpix," shouted Crystal.
"Ember attack !" they cried in unison.

The two fire-types let go a large blast of fire which burned the Rockets and their Pokémon.

"Caterpie, Weedle," said Ben throwing the two Pokéballs ,"use your String shot, so they won't escape"
Caterpie and Weedle started to shoot out silk at the enemy and stopped only after Butch and Cassidy looked like mummies.

"That was perfect," said Tom.
The others agreeded. Then Crystal noticed that the people were getting up. After a while officer Rocky came and with the help of the trio returned all of the Pokéballs, that were stolen.
"Thank you for helping." said officer Rocky. "You will be always welcomed here."
"Your welcome," the three said together.

After things settled down, they took their Pokémon to the Pokémon Centre and then visited the gym there.

"Hello. Came here to win a badge ?" asked the leader, Brock's father.
"I thought the gym leader was Brock." said Ben, puzzled.
"Well Brock *should* be the leader, but he's travelling with his friends Ash and Misty."
"Oh. So what's with the badge ?" asked Tom.
"So your first eh ? The rules are 3 on 3 OK ?"
"Actually, I only have two Pokémon"
"Allright then let's make it 2 on 2. Go Geodude."
"Pika. Chu" said Pikachu as it jumped in the arena.
"You want to fight Pikachu against that Geodude ?"
"Pi pikachu," it nodded.

"Geodude, Tackle"
"Pikachu, try Double team and then Slam" The Geodude got quickly surrounded by four Pikas. But which one was the real ? He tackled at one, but it was only a illusion and before he could react he got slammed onto the wall from the back by the real Pikachu and fainted instantly.
"You win the first round. Go Onix"
"Pikachu, come back, go Growlithe"

"Onix, Screech"
"Growlithe, Leer" The massive rock snake failed to screech. The Growlithe locked eyes with the big Onix. It looked stunned, so Growlithe used the chance and started to shoot flames at it. The Onix then recovered from the stun exhausted because of the flames.

"Onix, Bind"
"Growlithe avoid it and then Bite" Onix started to move towards the Growlithe to bind it but it was too slow and Growlithe escaped the move and quickly bit the rock body of Onix and again used it's Ember attack. Finally the collosus dropped down on the floor.

"You're a good trainer. As a proof that you have beaten me I'll give you this," said Brock's father and handed Tom the Boulder Badge.
"Thanks"

"What about you two don't you wanna battle too ?"
"You're on," responded Crystal.
"This time only 1 on 1 OK ? Go Zubat."
"Let's fight fire with fire. Go Pidgey."

"Zubat, Bite"
"Pidgey, Quick attack" The little bird attacked with super speed knocking the Zubat on the floor. The Zubat got up and bit the Pidgey.
"Zubat, Supersonic"
"Pidgey make a powerful Gust" While the Zubat started to send out sonic waves the Pidgey created the Gust and let it off. The Zubat got hit and fainted.

"Nice one. Here you go too," he said as he handed her the badge.

"Hey don't forget about me," interrupted Ben.
"Ahh, the last one. Again 1 on 1. Go Sandshrew."
"Rattata, go and win"

"Sandshrew, Scratch"
"Rattata, Tail whip"

The Sandshrew scratched the Rattata, which whipped it's tail at the enemy. The Sandshrew got turned around with it. The Rattata quickly struck with Hyper fang fainting the ground mouse.

"That Rattata of yours is quite powerful. I congratulate you, you just won the badge"
"Thank you," said Ben happily.

"Guess it's time to go now," said Tom, "goodbye"
"Bye," said Crystal and Ben.
"Goodbye you three and thanks for the help with those Rockets. I hope to see you again soon !" responded Brock's dad.

And with that Tom, Crystal, Ben, Growlithe, Vulpix and Pikachu went out.

"So, where to now ?" asked Crystal.
"I think there's a gym in Cerulean City," Tom responded.
"Yeah, and on the way there is Mt. Moon," replied Ben excited.
